About Linstead Primary School
Over a century of learning in the heart of Linstead
More than a century of history
Founded around 1900 as the Linstead Government School — a single-room wooden structure — our school has grown alongside the town it serves. It became the Linstead All-Age School in the 1940s, moved to its present seven-acre campus in 1964 (officially opened on January 31, 1965 by the Hon. Edwin Allen, then Minister of Education), and for a period from 1998 operated as a primary and junior high school before returning to its focus as Linstead Primary School. In 2025 we proudly celebrated our 125th anniversary.
